The decision of the United States Government under the leadership of President Donald Trump to withdraw from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) should not undermine Indonesia’s commitment to climate action and energy transition. Beyond the United States, Indonesia has the opportunity to build bilateral financing cooperation with countries in the Global South to continue—and even strengthen—its climate and energy transition commitments.
