Indonesia Solar Economy Dialogue

Amid the ongoing global clean energy boom, characterized by a sustained increase in renewable energy investment, Indonesia has a significant opportunity to capture this momentum and assume a leadership role in the energy transition, in a manner that is pragmatic, aligned with national interests, and credible at the international level. The development of the 100 GW Solar Project, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's national agenda, represents a strategic and transformative initiative to strengthen national energy security and support long-term economic development. This program will not only reduce Indonesia’s dependence on fossil fuels and imported energy but also reinforce the country’s position as a developing nation capable of balancing ambitious climate commitments with its development priorities.

Indonesia Solar Economy Dialogue, initiated by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), brought together 19 think tanks and civil society organizations to share their insights and perspectives on Indonesia’s 100 GW Solar Project through a series of Focus Group Discussions. The forum serves as a collaborative platform for think-tanks and civil society organizations to develop a concrete, substantive recommendation on the 100 GW Solar Project for the Government of Indonesia.
